German military WW1 cemetery in Prilep

The German military cemetery in Prilep (Германските воени гробишта во Прилеп, Deutsch Soldatenfriedhof in Prilep) are located in the southern part of the city near the city cemetery.

On an area of 7,200 square meters are buried 1683 German soldiers (of which 45 are from World War II ), 40 Austro – Hungarian, 39 Bulgarian, 33 soldiers from the territory of former Yugoslavia, Romania 21, Russia 10, 8 Albanian and 5 Turkish soldiers buried during World War II.

On the military cemetery is also buried the 19 -year-old Heinrich Ebert, son of the first president of Germany, Friedrich Ebert (1871–1925), who in February 1917 during the First World War, died in Prilep military hospital.

In 2006-2009 the military cemetery in Prilep were renovated by the German government in cooperation with Municipality of Prilep.
