Smolare waterfall is located on the northern slopes of the mountain Belasica, along the river Lomnica, at an altitude of 600 m. The waterfall is 28 km away from the city of Strumica.
The total height of the Smolare waterfall is 39.5 meters. At the bottom of the waterfall is formed a giant pot, whose length in the direction of the river water flow is 5 meters, and the depth ranges from 0.5 to 0.7 meters.
By decision of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, the Smolare waterfalls have been declared a Monument of Nature for their geological and vegetation values.
How to get to Smolare waterfall
The waterfall is located near the village of Smolari and about 500 meters from the restaurant Atlantis, where ends the asphalt road, where is a parking lot.
From here you can continue on foot on a well-arranged hiking path with wooden staircases and fence, through the picturesque nature of the mountain Belasica.
